Ancient Egyptian comb from Hawara dated 30 BC – AD 395

Double wooden hair comb made from a single piece of wood. With concave end panels, surrounding two opposing rows of teeth. One row of fine triangular teeth, the other row of thicker triangular teeth. All of the thicker teeth are missing, except for the roots. Majority of the fine teeth are also missing, a few loose fragments in the box. Three incised horizontal lines decorate the central bar of the comb. Cross checking to one side, caused by drying out after water logging or burning.
