Supporting material glass lantern slide from Nubia Sudan dated AD 1900s

Lantern Slide with black and white photograph showing a group of children on an archaeological site in Nubia. The setting is that of a temple, visible remains are the statue of a pharaoh, standing upright, wearing the double crown, a nemes headress and a kilt, against a large back-pillar. The group of children is assembled on top of and around a large sandstone sphinx, the base of which is inscribed with the titles and names of Ramesses II. Another sphinx and a temple gate / pylon are visible in the background. The temple is most likely that of Ramesses II at ed-Der in Nubia.
