Supporting material glass lantern slide from Nubia Sudan dated AD 1900s

Lantern Slide with black and white photograph showing a double-masted boat on the river Nile. The boat’s sails are triangular in shape, the traditional kind of transportation boat of the period. At least one male figure, dressed in traditional Egyptian costume, is visible on board. The cargo appears to be sugar cane and is described as such in the caption.
The river is very broad at this point which suggests that the location is somewhere in southern Egypt. The other Nile bank is visible: flat, fertile land with some palm trees and in the very far distance some hills can be seen.
Label ‘Boat with cargo of sugar cane’
Hand written label at top spine ‘(…) [Boa]t ladened with sugar cane’
