Modern Egyptian – after AD 1500 jar

Orange pottery jar of the Lekythos style. Ovaloid body narrowing to a flared ring base. A short, flared neck leads to a rounded rim. The lower body has a raised inscription on one side and a moulded motif on the opposite side. There is a small handle from the rim to the top part of the body. Once covered in red slip, now worn.
