Ancient Egyptian frame from Saqqara dated 700 – 200 BC

Roughly square piece of wood, possibly made from two pieces joined together, or restuck in modern times. As there is a hairline crack along the back and sides of the piece. Circular depression on one side, perhaps for the containment of a mirror picture. Damage or intentional depressions link the middle section of two sides of the circle to the edge of the piece. Traces of yellow powder or dirt inside the circular depression, or perhaps the original wood colour. The rest of the wood being dark brown. The reverse to this, has two rectangular ridges on two of its edges. In the centre of one of the sides of the piece is fixed a copper alloy loop.
