Ancient Egyptian sealing fragment from Amarna dated 1550 – 1295 BC

An irregularly shaped orange brown clay or mud sealing. On the upper surface is the impression of an oval seal with a hieroglyphic inscription or motif. On the back of the piece there seems to be the impression of a rope or similar around which the clay was put. The seal impression has the sun’s disc at the top, below which is the ‘nfr’ hieroglyph and a seated royal figure in Amarna style holding an ”nh’ symbol. Beneath that is the ‘wp’ hieroglyph, a horn, bisected by a feather.
