Ancient Egyptian wool fragment from Hawara or Illahun dated AD 395 – 642

A natural coloured woven wool fragment with a woven band embroidered in natural coloured flax with a repeating geometric design in the centre bordered by a woven repeating scalloped design. There is a thick fringe of looped twisted wool on one side.
Plain weave with eight warps per centimetre.
