Ancient Egyptian linen fragment from Hawara or Illahun dated AD 395 – 642

Two plain woven linen fragments slip stitched together. The edge of one fragment has a fringe and this has been turned back upon the fragment, with the appearance of being inserted into the seam.
One fragment has 13 warps and 33 wefts per centimetre. The other has 13 warps and 19 wefts per centimetre.
