Ancient Egyptian textile fragment from Hawara or Illahun dated AD 395 – 642

A woven linen fragment with brown, green and tan coloured wool loops. The loops are twisted around pairs of warp threads.
Plain woven, loops on face side. There are 20 warps and 13 to 14 wefts per centimetre. There are five wefts in between each loop row, double weft used behind the wool loops.
