Ancient Egyptian tunic fragment from Mosteggedda dated 30 BC – AD 395

Tapestry woven roundel. Purple ground with detached Coptic indeterminate motifs in blue, chrome yellow, red, green and white. Border defined by line of thick white thread, mostly missing and has closely worked irregularly shaped motifs in chrome yellow, green, blue and various tones of red. Roundel stitched to piece of natural colour fabric of own size, attached to fragment of coarsely woven red tunic.
