Ancient Egyptian wool fragment from Karanis dated 30 BC – AD 395

A fragment of woollen cloth, brown, with one side selvedge. There are two bands of tapestry weave in purple. Edging and design in hand stitching in natural flax. A narow purple stripe is divided by a line of flax and part of a stripe in red.
