Ancient Egyptian wool fragment from Karanis dated 30 BC – AD 395

A fragment of a heavy woollen fabric. The warp threads are self-coloured doubled yarns. The weft threads are dark brown, closely embroidered in geometrical patterns with undyed flax thread. Selvedge both sides.
