Ancient Egyptian linen fragment from Karanis dated 30 BC – AD 395

Linen, fine weave. Colour natural. Plain selvedge. Weft threads taken out and purple wool woven through forming three decorative bands of various widths. Piece of finer linen stitched to it. Purple wool missing on third of the band.
