Ancient Egyptian textile fragment from Karanis dated 30 BC – AD 395

Fragment of heavy woollen and hair textile. With four fold selvedge on each side. Brown, embroiderd in light yellow coarse wool in vertical bands interlaced lozenges. The centre portion had some green tapestry woven ground and a 15 fold selvedge. Possibly a belt to be worn round the body.
