Ancient Egyptian textile fragment from Faiyum dated AD 395 – 642

Portion of woollen tunic. Shoulder band of purple with floral design in self colour flax, tapestry woven. Panel, an oval enclosing detached designs and surrounded by a rectangular border, same design and technique as shoulder band.
