Ancient Egyptian wool fragment from Faiyum dated AD 395 – 642

Large roundel on yellow woollen cloth. Tapestry weave in coloured wools; design of detached figures, birds etc. with black border and outer band of wavy line and floral design in yellow on crimson gournd. There are nine warps per centimetre.
