Ancient Egyptian textile fragment from Faiyum dated AD 395 – 642

Woollen cloth with complex selvedge sides with narrow tapestry woven panels in dark blue wool and indistinct lozenge design in natural colour flax threads. The panels are bordered by a pale blue band and separated by narrow stripes of the same colour with flax stitch decoration.
