Ancient Egyptian textile fragment from Oxyrhynchus dated AD 395 – 642

A fragment of linen band, tapestry woven in dark purple wool. Animal forms in oval spaces have formed the design. One, with a hare, is shown.
There are 12 warps per centimetre with 3 fine threads per warp. Some fine embroidered surface threads to define the design.
