Ancient Egyptian textile fragment from Oxyrhynchus dated AD 395 – 642

Linen, with bird tapestry woven in coloured wools. The legs, beak and a scarf around the neck are red. The bird’s body is green and yellow. It has a white eye with black pupil. Most outlined in blue black.
There are two ply Z twist warps and six warps per centimetre.
