Ancient Egyptian wool fragment from Oxyrhynchus dated AD 395 – 642

Fragment of woollen cloth tapestry woven in purple wool with a warrior on horseback, spots of harness etc. worked in with yellow wool. It has also subsequently been described as being a woman on a sea monster.
There are 11 warps per centimetre and two threads per warp.
