Ancient Egyptian textile fragment from Oxyrhynchus dated AD 395 – 642

Linen with band, tapestry woven in red, blue and purple wool and undyed flax. The design is very fragmentary. A running or dancing figure, in flax, outlined in purple is preserved.
Plain weave. There are ten warps per centimetre and two threads per each warp.
