Ancient Egyptian linen fragment from Oxyrhynchus dated AD 395 – 642

A fragment of linen band, tapestry woven in black, purple and undyed flax. All the warp yarns are doubled. On one half of the design there is a large tree motif in undyed flax. On the other half on a purple background are small trees in blue bordered with natural colour. The border is crested.
There are nine warps per centimetre with two threads per warp.
