Ancient Egyptian baboon figurine from Amarna dated 1550 – 1295 BC

Limestone or plaster figurine of a Baboon with two young standing on a plinth with a jar in front of them. The Baboon stands erect, leaning over the two infants, one of whom seems to be suckling, the other facing jar which is in front of it. The adult has its lower arms and hands resting on the top of the large jar, of the type associated with beer making. The exterior of the piece is painted in bright red and blue, though the colours are damaged.
