Ancient Egyptian impressed plaster fragment from Amarna dated 1550 – 1295 BC

A piece of gypsum plaster, with the impression of part of two cartouches, text is visble in one, the last part of the late cartouche or name of the god ‘Aten’ on one face. Probably taken from an existing wall decoration. Two holes in the back are probably from metal pins inserted to facilitate display, early in the twentieth century.
