Ancient Egyptian wool fragment from Antinoe dated AD 395 – 642

Fragment of wool cloth, dyed red, with three stripes in black wool woven near border. It is plain weave with a loose S twist to the threads. There are an average of twelve warps per centimetre and variable wefts per centimetre, 31 to 50 with areas tightly woven.
