Ancient Egyptian textile fragment from Antinoe dated AD 395 – 642

Tapestry woven roundel, linen with purple wool centre worked in black with detached tree motifs and central quatrefoil flower, with narrow border of zigzag bands in red, green and yellow wools and undyed flax. The tapestry weave is carefully defined.
