Ancient Egyptian cartonnage fragment from Kafr Ammar Tarkhan dated 818 – 656 BC

Painted cartonnage fragment from a mummy case, showing the goddess Nut, painted yellow with black detailing and a blue wig, kneeling on a red mat, with her winged arms outstretched, black cross hatching begins and ends the wings, with red, and and red feather details in between on a yellow ground. She holds red feathers in each hand, and has a red sun disc on her head. Two patches of red cross hatching and the square bases of two elements, above her wings would have linked her to the above.
