Ancient Egyptian hair net from Illahun dated AD 395 – 642

Sprang hair net. Bag, plaited in red wool with interlacing lines of green and yellow at each seam and green and yellow edging at opening. Vertical bands of contrasting plaiting are repeated on back and front of the bag. Remains of yellow and green closing cord and red bottom cord.
