Ancient Egyptian earring drop from Hawara dated 30 BC – AD 395

Carnelian earring drop. Oval or lozenge shaped piece of carnelian framed with gold around the edge. The top and bottom of the gold have been formed into circular sockets or decorative elements. The gold has a darkened surface in places.
