Fragment of a leather slipper or shoe, left foot. Most of the upper part of the shoe made from a single piece of leather, consisting of a low covered front part which would have covered the toes, and shallow sides. The back section is missing, though the leather is very dry and wrinkled here it is possible that most of the back remains. Stitch holes remian along the top edge of the sides, perhaps from oversewing. And also along the bottom edge, where towards the back there are fragments of the edge of the base or sole. There are also three loose pieces of leather from the heel. One semi circular strip with holes through it at regular intervals, and another similar section that may have joined to this, and a small piece with a hole through it.
