Ancient Egyptian figurine from Naukratis dated 599 – 500 BC

Solid pinkish pottery head and shoulder from a statuette, broken across shoulders. Crudely modelled nose, mouth and large ears. As well as what could be triangular earring drops attached to the neck. Eyes and hairline may have been painted on in line, as are two bands on the headdress. The headdress is fan shaped and rises above the head, though it is broken off at what is probably half way up. It is decorated with two broad black bands, one near the break, the other near the hairline. Part of its right shoulder remains. The back is undecorated.
