Ancient Egyptian figurine from Naukratis dated 599 – 500 BC

Solid pinkish pottery head from a figurine, broken at the neck. Crudely modelled nose and large ears. Eyes and hairline painted on in black line, as are two bands around the neck, which could be necklaces or a dress edge, and two bands on the headdress. The headdress is fan shaped and rises above the head. It is decorated with two broad black bands, one near the top, the other near the bottom, in between these is red paint.
