Ancient Egyptian jar fragment from Deir el Bahari dated 1550 – 1295 BC

Part of a faience jar. The lower part of neck and part of the shoulder and body remain. Blue glazed on outer surfaces, with dark blue black decoration. The neck widens to the shoulders and then drops straight down for the body of the jar. Could be part of a small amphorae or a globular vessel. The jar is decorated with a band, made of two wavy lines, which runs around the circumference of the jar just below its shoulder, and with similar vertical bands regularly spaced down the neck. The inside of the neck also has a partial blue glaze in it.
