Upper portion of round-topped stela, inscribed on front. Erected under the official Ini to commemorate a mining expedition to Serabit el-Khadim in year 5 of the reign of Amenemhat III. Name of dedicator of stela unknown, but possibly Senwosret?
Front face incised with inscription: :”Year 5 under the majesty of the good god, lord of the Two Lands, lord of action, king of Upper and Lower Egypt, Nymaatre, son of Re, Amenemhat, (endowed with life). His majesty sent the god’s treasurer, the intendant, courtier of the Great House, leader of recruits, taken into the confidence of his lord, the truly beloved of his affection, overseer of the kitchen, Ini, true of voice. He says ‘I did all that which I did….great…..5 geese….goats(?)…….”
