Ancient Egyptian oil lamp from Hierakleopolis dated 30 BC – AD 395

Small pottery oil lamp, shouldered with round reservoir and projecting neck or spout. Spur type. Red slip, with a central hole in the top of the reservoir and one at the end of the spout. Incised circlular band around the reservoir, and a raised ridge along the spout. Blackening around the spout hole. In modern black ink on the base is written EEF 1904 and in pencil 4.
