Ancient Egyptian body sherd from Deir el Bahari dated 1550 – 1295 BC

Body sherd from a faience bowl or dish. Part of the circular base, and a section of the side of the vessel. Pale blue glaze on the inner and outer walls, with a dark blue black base and surface decoration. Outer wall has lotus leaves painted on it, out from the base. The inner surface has parts of flower stems and the heads of two fish, whose bodies lay outside the sherd. To the left of the sherd is possibly depicted part of a standard with the legs of a calf or cow visible on top of it. Probably associated with Hathor. Also possibly the Ram of Amun.
