Ancient Egyptian hawk figurine from Abydos dated 664 – 332 BC

Wooden hawk figure, wings furled standing on a plinth. White paint or gesso on most of remaining surface, with black detailing on feet, legs, head and face.
The rear of the figure, plinth, wings and back of head is badly insect damaged or rotten, it rather fragile, the outer surfaces are also degraded. There is a hole in the top of the head, and also a hole in the base, possibly for attaching a sun disc, and for attaching the hawk to another object, a coffin etc.
