Ancient Egyptian kohl pot from Abydos El Arabah dated 1773 – after 1650 BC

Egyptian Alabaster Kohl pot. Projecting base, body rising to shoulder, then narrowing to small neck with a wide flattened rim extending to the width of the shoulders. Nearly half of rim is missing, and slight chips to base. Traces of powder in the interior. E 232 followed by an upside down ‘Y’ in pencil on the bottom, repeated in ink. Circular patch of modern adhesive residue on base.
