Ancient Egyptian figurine fragment from Tell Nabasha dated 332 – 30 BC

Copper alloy headdress fragment from a figurine, probably of Osiris. One upright plume or feather, with a twisted horn at its base, and a ureaus on the outside edge of the plume, also attached to the horn at its base. A loop, now corroded shut, hangs the horn and plume edge, probably to suspend an earring like attachment. Two broken bands would have connected the plume to the central crown of the headdress. Raised lines on the plume denote individual feathers. Appears to have been treated, possibly with graphite in modern times.
