Ancient Egyptian amulet from Dandara dated 664 – 30 BC

Stylised faience amulet of one of the sons of Horus, probably Qebhsenuef. Possibly once green glazed, surface has now gone. The underside of the amulet bears the impression of linen. Broken into three pieces at neck, and waist. Hole drilled through the of the neck, and the heel of the figure to enable it to be stitched to the bandages of a mummy. The figure is mummiform, with six incised horizontal lines across the chest, and incised facial characteristics.
