Ancient Egyptian basket from Hawara dated 30 BC – AD 395

Small bowl shaped basket, made from coils of palm fibre or reeds which were then oversewn using more fibres. Wider at the top, it narrows to the base. Bottom of basket is missing, and final base coils that remain have unravelled and are partly loose in the basket.
