Ancient Egyptian body sherd from Deir el Bahari dated 1550 – 1295 BC

Faience sherd from a shallow dish. Blue glazed on inner and outer surfaces, with dark blue black decoration. Dark central circle on inner surface with lotus buds radiating out from it. The exterior surface has the remains of a slightly flat circular base, which has been painted dark in colour, and from which radiate lotus petals. Two holes have been drilled through the base to fix the piece onto a display mount in the twentieth century. Joins to 1907.90.5.b.
