Ancient Egyptian bowl from Mahasna dated 4000 – 3500 BC

Polished red pottery bowl, handmade and coated with a red slip, diagonally burnished on the exterior and horizontally burnished on the interior. Conical body with a flat base and a flat rim. Decorated on the interior in cream paint with a design of four triangles, two opposing with rows of dots and two opposing with zigzag lines, which meet at circle in bottom of bowl with five radiating lines within it. Rim decorated with a single zigzag line.
