Ancient Egyptian cartonnage fragment from Sidment el Gebel dated 332 – 30 BC

Painted cartonnage section from a mummy case or similar. A pectoral, depicting a floral collar of rows of cylinders, lotus pendants, spheroids, rosettes, pendants, with an inverted lotus bloom in the top centre. There are two hawk headed terminals, sun discs, which flank two Wadjet eye motifs either side of a shrine with seated figures of Osiris, Horus and Isis, named above in hieroglyphs. The colours that remain are blue, black and white.
