Ancient Egyptian cup from Abydos dated 1985 – 1773 BC

Small carinated bowl, used as a drinking cup. Nile silt B, reddish-brown with red slip on upper exterior. Wheel-thrown, base drawn from wheel with string, smoothed with tool. From shaft of Dynasty 12 mastaba with walled enclosure on east of shaft.
