Ancient Egyptian figurine

Plaster copy of the reddish brown quartzite statuette fragment of Nefertiti or an Amarna Princess from Amarna. Known as ‘Akhenaten’s daughter’ or ‘the Amarna Upright torso’ Proportions seem to be exact replicas, see notes below. Carved out of a back plinth. Head and lower legs are missing, but abdomen, bust and hips are fully rounded in the Amarna style. Horizontal line through the navel. Arms are missing, but the figure has a similar posture to those where left arm of the figure reaches back to hold the hand of another, perhaps an infant. The copy torso has been mounted on a different coloured plaster to allow the figure to stand of its own accord. Univ Coll London’ engraved on the back of the figure, and a hole in the base.
