Ancient Egyptian figurine from Abydos dated 664 – 525 BC

Limestone statuette fragment, or finial. Possibly the body of a bird, with head missing. Feathering, or leaf design, incised onto upper surface; what could be a foot carved onto the bottom right hand side of the piece. Two holes drilled into the piece with remains of steel spikes rusted into them, part of modern display mounts.
