Ancient Egyptian garment edge from Faiyum dated AD 300 – 500

Edge of a double piece of linen, decorated with red, yellow and green or blue dye or stitching, possibly another fibre involved. Sewn at regular intervals are shells. Probably part of a band to be worn against the forehead, or the edge of a garment. Friable in places.
