Ancient Egyptian gilded gesso fragment from Amarna dated 1550 – 1295 BC

An irregular shaped fragment of gesso, with mud plaster and a fine layer of gilded plaster on the outer surface. Piece of modern paper adheres to the back of the fragment, probably from early twentieth century display techniques.
