Ancient Egyptian gilded gesso fragment from Amarna dated 1550 – 1295 BC

A fragment of mud plaster or gesso with a fine layer of gilded plaster on the outer surface. Roughly half of a cylindrical disc in shape. Gilding only on the curved face, which is split into two horizontal bands. Very friable. White plaster or core mud plaster then gilding.
